How To Have Truly Clean Carpets For Less

An unclean carpet is not good. The rooms of your home will not look nice when your carpets are dirty, ancient, or simply worn down. This is why it is important to get them cleaned professionally. What are factors you should consider when looking for a carpet cleaner? Here are some things you can do to get pointed in the right direction.TIP! In addition to cleaning carpets, many professional carpet cleaners offer other services. It’s is especially smart to ask them about their upholstery cleaning service.

You should not choose a carpet cleaner who uses telemarketing to find clients or advertises set prices for a room. A room can be any size, and prices should take that into account. The price should reflect total area or square footage of the rooms that are cleaned.TIP! Understand that all carpets cannot be cleaned with harsh chemicals and machines. Be sure apply a little bit of solution to a small area of your carpet in an unobtrusive location a full day before applying a cleaning solution to the whole carpet.

Carpet cleaners aren’t friendly to certain types of carpet. Test a small section of the carpet before using anything on the entire floor. The cleaning process can damage delicate materials such as silk or wool. Get in touch with a professional if you don’t know the proper way to get your carpets clean.TIP! As soon as you have new carpet installed, get it steam cleaned right away. Sometimes, carpets have chemicals to preserve the quality when they are in the showroom.

If you’re considering having a professional company clean your carpets, be sure that said company has a real address. You have to have access to an address for correspondence if problems arise. If they have a P.O. box as a business address, you need to find a different company.TIP! Before agreeing to a stain treatment from a professional carpet cleaning company, check the warranty on your carpets. You can void your warranty if your carpet came pre-treated and then you apply a different stain resister to it.

You should always have a professional clean your carpets. Although this technique usually works, hiring a professional carpet cleaner is usually the wisest decision. Apply the solution to a hidden part of the carpet to make sure it is safe.TIP! You want the carpet cleaning company you hire to have an actual address. You should be able to go to an address if any issues arise.

Tell your carpet cleaner if your home contains electrical outlets on the floor. Electrical sockets can pose a serious threat if not handled correctly. It can hurt them or their equipment, and it may also damage your home.TIP! You should be able to get a guarantee from a reputable carpet cleaner. If a company offers no guarantee whatsoever, look for someone else to do the job.

Once you’ve had your carpets cleaned, ask the carpet cleaning company for pointers on taking care of your carpets afterward. You should ask about the products you can use, how often you should vacuum, and how to get rid of different kinds of stains. This advice will allow you to save money on future cleanings.TIP! The local chamber of commerce can provide you with the names of local companies that provide the services you want. The Chamber of Commerce will actually have information concerning any complaints that have been registered.

You need to read the directions on carpet solutions before attempting to clean. There’s a chance that the product is not right for your carpets. Additionally, you need to be aware of what you can do if it is accidentally ingested or spilled on your skin. These are all things you should know before you use the product.TIP! Many times, companies will have technicians that try to sell you more products. This means you may be quoted a cheap price, but they will try to offer you added services for an additional price.

Make sure your carpet cleaner is IICRC-certified. This is a standard certification used for carpet cleaners world-wide. If you have a carpet with a warranty, you must be sure that you have a cleaner work on it that’s certified. If your cleaner does not have this certification, then your carpet manufacturer can void your carpet’s warranty.TIP! Of the many types of carpet stains, red wine can be one of the most difficult to remove. When you treat the stain ASAP, it will minimize any damage.

Red Wine

TIP! Be sure you reserve a space for the carpet cleaning company to park. Although this may sound silly, it’s a big thing.

Red wine stains are extremely tough to get rid of. When you treat a stain right away, you will minimize the amount of damage done. White wine can help to dilute the red wine. Then blot the liquid by using an absorbent cloth with cold water. Pour table salt on the moist carpet before vacuuming.TIP! You want to know the services that you get when you purchase a package from a carpet cleaning business. Some companies may provide you with a cheap price at first, but once they’re finished cleaning, they might charge you for extra services you thought were already included in the price.

You want to provide ample space for the cleaning service to park. This small detail is actually very important. They usually have heavy equipment, so they should be as close as possible to your home.TIP! You can usually find significant discounts during the summertime. Call some and find out what they’re offering during that time.

Check the chemicals that a company is going to be using on your carpet. Some companies are more conscious of the chemicals they use than others are. Therefore, doing some research on the chemicals they use will ensure that they are being safe. As trivial as this may seem, it can a long way when everyone does it.TIP! Look deeper than the ads that are presented by companies. Talk to those around you about professionals they used to clean their carpets.

To get your carpeting completely clean, hire a professional. Create a friction by going back and forth. To get the particles that appear to be on the surface, the cleaning motion should be with the grain of your carpet.TIP! Get some preliminary information over the phone; ask them what they bill for and what types of things they don’t bill for. A cleaning company will typically remove your furniture for free.

If any liquid spills on your carpet, blot it immediately. Use dry towels to absorb as much of the liquid as possible. Once the stain is set in, your only option is to hire a professional carpet cleaning company to come in and thoroughly remove it. Use a steam cleaner if this happens to get the deeper layers.TIP! When deciding on a carpet cleaner, ask them how they protect your home’s furnishings. Ask them to tell you exactly what they do when they move and protect surrounding furnishings.

Having read this article, you are now ready to go forth and hire a carpet cleaner. Take all that you have read here into consideration and you can find one easily. An excellent carpet-cleaning business will significantly improve the quality of your carpets. The results are undeniable!TIP! Find customer reviews about any carpet professionals in the area. Once you have compiled your list, contact each company to get a preliminary quote.

How To Get The Unthinkable Out Of Your Carpet

How To Get Wax Out Of A Carpet

We all love candles, especially the scented types. They give such a safelight that sets the perfect mood and atmosphere for memorable moments/events. But like most things, they also have a downside – the wax.

The use of candles has grown and become popular that spilling candle wax on the carpets have equally grown.

Getting wax out of carpets, especially rug carpets, can be a bit of a challenge. However, with the right tools and method, getting wax out of your carpet can be just as easy as vacuuming.

Before we continue, I should stress that candles and carpets are a terrible mix. Whenever you use candles on carpets, ensure you are careful and use your candles in candle jars.

Tools you’ll need

  • Credit card or something similar
  • Vacuum with a hose
  • Clean towels
  • Paper bags
  • Iron

How to get the wax out

  1. Use the credit card to remove the butt wax, paying attention to the pressure you apply to the wax so you don’t damage the fibers. Scrape away at the wax as gently as you can manage. Keep at it until the bulk of the wax has been removed.
  2. Now you just want to vacuum the way you’ve just scraped. Vacuum, not brush. If you brush, you risk spreading tiny fragments all over your carpet. The wax has to be confined to a small area so you easily get all the way out.
  3. You’re going to melt the residues that are left so they come off easily. Use your iron and ensure it is at it’s lowest setting. You have to pay strict attention to the heat and ensure you don’t burn the fabrics. When the wax melts, wipe the spot with the paper bag. The paper bag will absorb the wax from the carpet.
  4. If after the previous step you still have some wax, blot the remainder with a rag soaked in a mixture of ammonia and water. Don’t rub on the carpet. Doing so will ruin your carpet. If the wax is colored, an easy way to know if all the wax is out is if the color is not transferred to the cloth. Therefore, blot with a white rag until no more color is noticed on the rag.
  5. If the previous step fails, mix baking soda with water in an equal amount so that a paste is achieved. Smear the paste on the wax stain and let it dry. Vacuum the paste. You should notice the stain come off with some of the colors. Repeat this method as required until there is no color in the baking soda.
  6. Rinse the area with a clean towel soaked in cold clean water. Make sure to dry off excess water. Vacuum the area afterward.

The Most Concise List of Carpet Cleaning Tips You Need

If you have attempted to clean your own carpets, you are aware of how hard it is when you aren’t used to the entire process. When it comes to carpets, there is an abundance of knowledge out there. Therefore, hiring a professional carpet cleaner is usually your best bet. The following article will give you some great tips for hiring the best company for the job.

Carpet cleaning before and after carpet

Carpet Cleaning Tips

Reputation is important in the carpet cleaning business. There are quite a few companies to choose from, and there are those that you can depend on more than others.

When vacuuming, make things easier for yourself by sectioning off the room. To help you get the job done efficiently vacuum a section at a time. For example, divide a square room into four equal areas and concentrate on one area prior to moving to the next.

Try to avoid excess heat when carpet cleaning. Your carpet can suffer from severe damage, even more so if it is colorful or fragile.

You should not choose a carpet cleaner who uses telemarketing to find clients or advertises set prices for a room. Rooms come in many different sizes. Usually, prices are based on the size of the room when they are professional.

Beware of carpet cleaning businesses who are soliciting business over the phone, or who charge by the room. Not all rooms are the same size.

Check customer reviews of local cleaning companies. Look for reviews and recommendations that indicate whether the company is able to meet your needs and provide the best services. Do some research to get the best results from a cleaning company.

Check customer reviews of local cleaning companies. There are companies out there who claim excellent customer service when in reality it is anything but excellent.

Even if furniture moving is offered free by the company, move any valuable yourself before they get there. It is best not to take any risks, even if your carpet cleaner is insured and seems reliable enough to take good care of your valuables.

Check your carpet warranties prior to arranging to have any professional carpet cleaning firm provide stain treatment. Certain carpets are made with a stain treatment and when you use another formula, the warranty could become void.

Just because carpet cleaners use some famous products doesn’t mean that they’re more reliable and experienced than other companies. Proper licensing and certifications, on the other hand, are more important. Just ask the company, then verify that on your own.

Just because a professional uses a well-known product doesn’t mean they are reputable. Make sure you research the certifications and credentials of any prospective cleaning firm.

Inquire about how you can take care of your carpeting after the professionals are finished working on it. They can give you guidance regarding how long the carpets need to dry, how often you should vacuum, and what you can do to lift future stains from the carpet. Follow your technician’s advice to help your carpets remain looking their best.

In the world of cleaning, a carpet cleaner on a professional level should be fully certified by the IICRC. This certification is globally recognized as the gold standard for carpet cleaners. This is important if your carpet is under warranty. If there isn’t a certification, the manufacturer can void your carpet’s warranty.

If you can’t get a stain out of your carpet, you may want to get a professional. Professionals use better techniques to get the stains out of your carpet. In fact, they can remove stains without inflicting any chemical damage to the carpet. Over time, this saves a great deal of money.

Pets can wreak havoc on your carpets. If you have carpet that is harder to clean, consider keeping your pets out or using rugs.

Shampoo your dirty carpet with a mixture of vinegar and warm water. Doing this is a cheap, effective method of getting carpets cleaned. Just use a 50-50 mix of vinegar and water applied with a sponge. Rinse completely with warm water, and finally, use a fan to dry the carpet.

Make sure that the company you hire has procedures they are following. You need to be sure that before any deep cleaning they are going to vacuum your carpet.

How To Get The Most Out Of Your Carpet Life

Prolong Carpet life

It can be very bad to have dirty carpets. When your carpet looks dirty and worn, it will make the room look bad. For this reason, you should hire a pro to clean your carpet. What are factors you should consider when looking for a carpet cleaner? The following advice will show you what to look for.

7 Ways To Prolong Carpet life

1. Vacuum
Always vacuum any carpet before cleaning it. Make use of a good vacuum cleaner in order to eradicate lose dirt prior to applying cleaning solvents or water. You will not get good results if you apply cleaning products on a carpet full of loose dirt. Ask your technician if he will be vacuuming prior to carpet cleaning; if not, make sure you vacuum 30 minutes before he arrives.

2. Know your Carpet Warranty
A company may offer a certain type of stain protection for your carpet, but make sure you read your carpet’s warranty first. If your carpet was pre-treated by the company that made the carpet and you place another treatment over it, it could make your warranty null and void. The chemicals may not be compatible and it can end up costing you a bundle.

3. Research your Carpet Cleaner
Just because a professional uses a well-known product doesn’t mean they are reputable. You need to do some research to make sure they are properly certified. Double check on your own, but also just ask them about their certifications to see what they say.

4. Learn from your Cleaner
Once you’ve had your carpets cleaned, ask the carpet cleaning company for pointers on taking care of your carpets afterward. Most professionals can guide you toward the best stain removers, how long carpets should dry, and a vacuuming schedule. The advice they give you can help keep your carpet looking great for a long time after the cleaning.

5. Explore Cheaper Options
Just using vinegar and warm water makes an excellent carpet cleaning solution. This is much cheaper than cleaning products if you still want good results. The professional should mix an equal amount of vinegar and warm water together. Then, they should pour the mixture over your carpet, scrubbing it with a sponge. All you need to do is take care of surface dirt by vacuuming.

6. Check for Licensed Carpet Cleaners
Carpet cleaners should be licensed by the IICRC. This certification is globally recognized as the gold standard for carpet cleaners. It is particularly important to contract a cleaner who’s certified when your carpet is under warranty. If there is no certification, the manufacturer may void the warranty on your carpet.

7. Treating a Stain
Red wine that gets spilled on a carpet may leave behind a bad stain. Treating a stain as soon as possible can make it easier to clean. First, place white wine on the red wine to dilute it. Cold water and a cloth that’s absorbent can be used to blot this liquid off of your carpet. Sprinkle salt over the stain, and allow it to absorb the wine for 10 to 15 minutes before vacuuming.

You now have a good understanding of how to go about hiring a carpet cleaning service. It couldn’t be simpler if you just apply the tips found in this article. The right cleaning service can turn back time to restore your carpet. That makes your home look wonderful as well!

5 Things you were told about Carpet Cleaning that are WRONG

5 Things you were told about Carpet Cleaning that are WRONG

Being in the carpet cleaning business for several years I’ve heard quite a number of stories and misconceptions about carpet cleaning.

Even in 2019, this misconceptions and myths still take root in peoples beliefs. That’s so because when we were all kids an authority figure told us these myths which they themselves believed to be true.

They also were told these things when they were kids and that’s how these misconceptions have been passed from mouth to mouth, from generations to generation.

I’m however going to shed some light on some of these carpet cleaning misconceptions.

1. Wait a few years before cleaning a new carpet

Honestly, I have no idea where this started or how it came to be, but the truth is it is false. Waiting a few years before thinking of cleaning your new carpet only does more harm than good. I suppose people intend to preserve the life of the carpet but while they intend to do that, they only put the health of your family at risk.

The dust that settles on the carpet, stains from liquids that spill into the fabrics and other contaminants makes it unhealthy – a perfect breeding ground for germs and allergens. This causes the air in your home to be contaminated by these pollutants which constitutes a health hazard for you and your family.

Carpet cleaning and washing don’t cause the fabrics and patterns to fade, with the right cleaning materials your carpets will survive its entire lifespan and look as good as the day you bought it.

2. Only clean your carpet if it is stained

Over time, carpets accumulate dead skin cells, dust and food fragments. Some carpets hide this better than others, but because they are hard to spot does not mean they are absent.

Waiting for your carpet to be stained is not a good threshold/standard by which you should depend on to make the decision.

Waiting will only give your carpet the chance to further accumulate these filths that not only contaminates the air but cause skin diseases and irritations should your bare skin touch the carpet.

3. Cleaning shrinks the carpet

While this may be true, it depends on the carpet cleaning company you hire for the job. Your carpet will only shrink if the water used is too hot, if it is soaked a long time and if you use the wrong cleaning materials and technique for your carpets.

This is one of the reasons it’s advisable to hire a carpet cleaner that’s an expert in the field. An excellent cleaning company, know the appropriate materials for your carpet type and every other relevant information to prevent your carpet from shrinking.

4. If you have your own machine, you don’t need a professional

Unless you are a professional in the field, you need experts. Having your own machine is great and convenient if removing small stains is what you intend to do.

However, for heavy-duty carpet cleaning, you will need professionals to do the cleaning. Their machines have the power needed to remove tough stains and of course won’t shrink your carpet.

5. Carpet cleaners are all the same, go for the cheapest ones

There are carpet cleaners and there are also carpet cleaners. That you will be able to tell when you actually go for the cheap carpet ones. The quality of service the cheapest ones offer will definitely not be the kind of service you’ll get if you went for the real pro.

Already explained in 3 above, expert carpet cleaners know what to do to prevent your carpet from shrinking sams cant be said and guaranteed for the cheapest carpet cleaners.

New Year, New Tips To Keep Clean

Carpet cleaning could be a science, just not rocket science

Going about a thing in a different manner should definitely produce quite different results. That holds true for carpet cleaning. Perhaps you’ve been doing your carpet cleaning yourself instead of contracting a carpet cleaning company. And you are not getting the results you want. Read this post to learn about other techniques you can try to get different results. One of them might even turn to be what you have always been looking for.

Carpet cleaning could be a science, just not rocket science

1. Bonnet:

Often used by companies or clients concerned with water-conservation, this method resembles a floor buffer seen used in grocery stores and schools late at night. The carpets are misted with a mixture of club soda and cleaning solutions and the “bonnet” scrubs the carpet with a rotating motion with an absorbent spinning pad to remove dirt and grime. The bonnet needs regular cleaning or replacing as well as regular lubrication with cleaning solution to ensure a decent clean. This method does not easily allow for the sanitation of carpets, so often another cleaning method needs to be implemented or an antimicrobial agent is applied to the cleaning process.

2. Dry Foam:

Using a pressure tank containing a solution of 90% air and 10% liquid the dry foam method is considered low moisture. After application and allowing the moisture content to go down, a vacuum is used to extract the cleaner. This can leave residue on the carpets, leading to this method having low effectiveness. The carpet may smell cleaner and the visual quality may improve slightly, but it is often not a true clean.

3. Dry Compound:

With this method, an “absorbent mixture” is spread across the carpets and a machine scrubs the mixture into the carpet and dirt is meant to absorb into the mixture. Once dry, a vacuum is used to remove the material. Due to a lack of rinsing, this method is about as useful as dry foam.

4. Hot Water Extraction (Steam):

This is generally considered the most effective cleaning method. Hot water (not steam) is used with cleaning solutions accompanied by high pressure to force the water and cleaning product into the carpet and that liquid is sucked back up. There are two methods for hot water extraction cleaning: portable and truck mounted. The truck method is often preferred because the water can get hotter (meaning more effective cleaning and sanitation) and be released at a higher pressure (to break up dirt, pollen, and bacteria), and higher levels of suction are capable. This method can lengthen the life of your carpet because the rinsing abilities remove residue, preventing added wear-and-tear of your carpets. Carpets are left cleaner, more sanitary, and restored to a like-new luster.

The downside of hot water extraction cleaning methods is the dampness that resides. Floors need to be fully dried to prevent mildew and mold. The cleaning is very effective, but in areas of high humidity or low air circulation, drying can take long enough to cause problems. Many companies, like Accents in Cleaning, offer better drying processes to decrease the chances of mold and mildew.

Hot water extraction is often called “steam cleaning” because of the use of hot water. Actual steam cleaning is usually used for hard surfaces. Steam can damage most artificial carpet fibers or shrink natural fibers such as wool or cotton, hot water extraction is referred to as “steam cleaning,” is actually more like a nickname than the actual title. Make sure you make sure your carpet cleaners are not trying to use steam on your carpets and upholstery.

Carpet Cleaners: Rotovac or Rug Doctor?

Today we are going to tell you about why our carpet cleaning is better than some others you might have heard of. Let’s start with the name of our carpet cleaning system – Rotovac – remember that name because it will soon be one of your favorite cleaning machines.

How it works

TiredCleaner

It works like this: RUG DOCTOR Rug Dr. and other carpet cleaners like it, are fine carpet cleaners if you need a small area cleaned, or if your carpet, upholstery, or tile is not very dirty.  The problem with scrubbing wand cleaners is that the wand has to be manually pushed back and forth if you really want to get the area clean.  That continuous back and forth movement are exhausting.  Plus, if it is a tough job, you are going to get pretty weary before you get the carpet clean if this type of cleaner can even do the job.

With a manual cleaner, your carpet is still wet when you finish the job, and retains water for a while.  It cannot be adjusted to accommodate different pile heights.  It has one setting only. Finally, these machines just are not designed to do the kind of work we do with ROTOVAC.  If you want to call the wand scrub cleaners a Cadillac, then the Rotovac would have to be called a Lamborghini.

ROTOVAC

The Rotovac is an electric power scrubbing tool. The extreme cleaning jobs that we do would be impossible if we were not using the ROTOVAC.  It is efficient, powerful, easier to use, and gets the job done more quickly and more thoroughly.  It’s the rotary mechanism that makes the cleaning go so much more smoothly.  The rotary brushes are contacting a broader area of carpeting and are cleaning in a circular manner, which produces better cleaning results for you.

The Rotovac can adjust to differing pile heights which not only improves the depth and accuracy of cleaning but also can be adjusted to the correct setting for carpet over pads or commercially glued-down pads. The Rotovac leaves the carpet about 20 X drier than a wand scrub cleaner.  Our normal drying time is 2-6 hours depending on the weather and the barometer.

Rotovac-BnA-floor-big

The thing about it is that you can rent a wand scrubber carpet cleaner at any hardware store or big box home improvement store.  You can get the proper cleaning solution and bring everything home.  Then, you can read the directions and follow them carefully.  As we have said, you will get carpets that aren’t in very bad shape looking better.  But is all that going, getting, paying, solution-buying, reading and doing really worth it, if in the end, you are not going to get a really clean carpet?  Why not let Accents in Cleaning come one time and get the job done?  You won’t believe how much better your home will look, smell, and feel!

4 Annoying Carpet Stains and How to Clean Them Off

They are probably the most annoying 4 of the bunch. Common household items that when they get on the wrong surface (in this case, our carpets), they hold on and never want to let go. No matter how hard you scrub, these culprits prove very resilient.

Gum, lipsticks, shoe and nail polish!

To the ill-advised, they make carpet and home cleaning unnecessarily complicated. But that is about to be a thing of the past. Today we give you insights into the proper cleaning of tough gum, lipsticks, shoes, and nail polish stains. Without further ado, let’s dive right in!

Gum

Gums are really fun, in the mouth. But when they get on surfaces, well, you know it. They can be a real pain. Gums getting on surfaces sometime can’t be avoided especially if you have kids in your home. Other times it could just be adults who accidentally lose control of their mouths and let gum out. Sometimes gum can fall out of a trash can and get pressed into furniture or flooring. Next time gum shows up somewhere it doesn’t belong, try these methods:

  • Ensure the gum is dried and hardened by using a can of compressed air or ice or an ice pack (be sure to keep moisture from ice away from the gum). Take a dull scraper to scrape up and lift off the gum. This can work on carpets as well, just be extra careful to avoid damage to the carpet fibers. Vacuum the area and wash with warm soapy water.
  • Apply extra strength duct tape to the gum and quickly lift the tape, repeat until the gum is removed.
  • Using a microfiber cloth, apply a product like Goo-Gone. Use circular motions and pressure to loosen the gum.

Lipstick Stains

Lipsticks look unbelievably good on the lips – female lips I might add – but not so much on carpets and household furniture. With the way lipsticks are made to stick to the lips for long periods of time, you can see how that will be a problem when it gets on wooden surfaces.

Lipstick from a napkin, a glass tipping onto the carpet, or simply falling asleep on your sofa before removing your makeup can leave embarrassing red marks. Follow these tips to restore your carpet or furniture to its pre-kissed glory.

  • If the lipstick has not dried, apply toothpaste to the area to help remove the stain.
  • If the lipstick has dried, use a plastic knife or a scraper to remove as much as possible.
  • Soak a cloth in ammonia and gently blot at the stain. Remove ammonia from the surface with a clean cloth which has been soaked in water.
  • Spray hairspray onto the stain, let sit for roughly 5 minutes and wipe down the area with a dry, clean cloth.

Unfortunately, lipstick is a very stubborn thing to remove, but Accents in Cleaning can help you remove any and all stains.

Shoe/Nail Polish

Shoe polish can make work boots and dress shoes look amazing. Whether you have a housemate who is in the military or someone who just likes polished shoes, somewhere in your house is bound to end up with a little-spilled shoe polish.

  • Scrape away as much as possible (without damaging the carpet or upholstery) with a scraper or knife.
  • Apply dry-cleaning fluid in a blotting fashion to the stain. Followed by a mixture of ammonia and dish soap applied with a clean paper towel (keeping the clean side on the stain at all times to reduce spreading). Rinse with cool water and blot with a clean, dry towel until dry.
  • Use acetone nail polish remover. That stuff will remove just about anything!
  • Mix a non-bleach laundry detergent with cold water and apply directly to the carpet and scrum.
  • Combine water and ammonia, and scrub the carpet with a clean rag. Rinse with warm water and blot or vacuum dry.e

Though a cliche, it’s important to note that with these stains, a stitch in time saves nine. You want to attack these stains while they’re still young – catch them young, sort of. You’ll save on costs of detergents and time just by simply following these tips.

Don’t just choose the first carpet cleaning company you consider, but check out several different cleaners first. Research each company online and find customer reviews. Check the BBB or Chamber of Commerce to avoid companies that you won’t be satisfied with. Look over any reviews that customers have left for carpet cleaning companies before hiring them. Make sure you select a company that offers the services you need at a price you can afford.

Watch out for cleaning services that advertise by the room or that contact you by phone. These are warning signs as every room is a different size. Square footage needs to be the main factor when determining the price. If the stain on your carpet is very difficult, you should probably hire a professional. Carpet professionals know how to remove stains including blood, wax, wine or other harsh stains.

Wash all new carpets as soon as you bring them home. Some carpets possess chemicals to help preserve their quality. Cleaning the carpet as soon as it is in your home will help you avoid harming pets or members of your family. If you have an animal in your home your carpet will surely need more attention than it would otherwise. Hiring a professional carpet cleaning company is a great way to get any odors and pet hairs out of the carpet for good.

Remember that chemical carpet cleaning agents can expose members of your family to something that is potentially harmful. You should always know what cleaning products that the company is using. Ask the company, before you hire them, what procedures they follow prior to actually cleaning the carpet. Vacuuming should be done before deep cleaning the carpet.
