A good Carpet Cleaner close to you is not hard to find

If you’ve attempted to clean the carpet in your home by yourself, you understand just how hard it is. There is much to learn and this is left better for professionals. The following article will give you some great tips for hiring the best company for the job.

TIP! Try not to use too much heat as your carpets are cleaned. Carpet is typically made from synthetic materials, and the color or pattern can be reduced when too much heat is used.

You should always check out the reputation of a company prior to hiring them

Many carpet-cleaning companies exist, but unfortunately, all are created differently. Some have more experience and are simply better than others. Ask for their references and check reviews online. This will help you find the best company for your needs.

TIP! If a carpet-cleaning company advertises a per-room price, or they contact you via the phone, then you should be leery of them. Cleaning advertised at a set price per room usually have room size limits on the price.

Compare the prices of different companies to get the most bang for your buck.

Research the company and check their customer reviews. Check with the BBB for the company’s local reputation, and don’t hire a company who doesn’t have a good one.

TIP! Before a carpet-cleaning company uses a solution on your carpet, they should test it out on a small component of your carpet that won’t be noticed. You don’t want to make it worse using some unknown solutions from the store.

When your carpet cleaning is complete, ask the company who performed the task for recommendations

The majority of carpet-cleaning companies should be able to provide you with advice on vacuuming and dry your carpets, as well as which stain removers are best. By following this advice, you will keep your carpets looking beautiful for a longer period of time.

TIP! Check out the customer testimonials for the companies you are considering in your local area. Several companies that have existed a long time don’t offer the service you think they would.

If you need to clean your carpet in between professional cleanings, consider using vinegar and warm water

This method is both effective and highly affordable. You should mix equal quantities of warm water and vinegar, pour it on your carpet and scrub with a sponge. You’ll be happy with the result.

TIP! Many cleaning companies use chemicals; if you don’t want these substances in your home, find someone that uses “green” methods. Read any cleaning product labels and consider “green” solutions like baking soda, salt or rinsing the carpet.

Ask prospective carpet cleaning companies about the types of deodorizer that they use

Most carpet deodorizers contain baking soda with fragrance. You can save a lot by using some baking soda before hiring a professional carpet cleaner. If you want a fragrance, simply mix some essential oils to the baking soda prior to applying to your carpet.

TIP! If you’re considering having a professional company clean your carpets, be sure that said company has a real address. If you end up with an issue, you need to be able to find them to be able to resolve your problem.

For creating lists of local companies, talk to the local chamber of commerce

You should also check which companies have a certification and ask about complaints filed by customers. This way, you can choose the best local company.

TIP! Always read all the instructions on an industrial carpet cleaner before you use it. There could be special instructions about using the cleaner.

See what kind of screening process the company has for the employees they hire

You don’t need criminals in your home. Reputable companies do a complete background check and will inform you of this. If a company is not forthcoming with this information, move on.

TIP! Shampoo carpets with vinegar and warm water. This is a much cheaper alternative to actual cleaning products and they get you better results.

Make sure that you put your houseplants in an area that’s separate from the rooms that are getting their carpets cleaned

Many chemicals can be toxic to plants, so, just to be safe, you definitely want to get them out of harm’s way. This is not a loss that is covered by insurance, so if you have expensive plants, you should keep this tip in mind.

TIP! You should always have a quality stain remover to get rid of the worst stains such as red wine or sauces, even if you use a cleaner. Sometimes it can be helpful to pre-treat stains before a professional carpet cleaning company can come.

Although it is a tough stain, red wine can be removed by a professional carpet cleaner

Having your carpets cleaned immediately can save them from damage. You can immediately use some white wine to help dilute a red wine stain. Then use a cloth with some cold water to blot it up. This way, you won’t be forced to look at the ugly stains forever. You could also just call in a cleaning professional, which would be a less labor-intensive way of handling the problem.

TIP! Although it is a tough stain, red wine can be removed by a professional carpet cleaner. You can reduce the chances of the carpet being damaged if you treat it right away.

Different companies clean carpets in different ways

Certain companies might clean with absorbent pads. This method involves using a tool similar to wooden floor buffers. Absorbent pads that spin are used; they get rid of dirt, mold, and debris found deep within your carpets.

TIP! Make sure that you make space in your driveway or near your home for carpet cleaning company employees to park. That sounds kind of silly, but it really is important.

Make sure you look into any cleaner that you intend to hire

You should ensure that the company runs background checks on the people that come into your home, as well as drug screen them. Being robbed should be the least of your concerns when you hire a professional.

TIP! Be sure and research whatever carpet cleaning service that you’re considering hiring. Be certain the company screens its employees carefully in terms of drug use and criminal record.

Carpet Cleaner is just a call away

TIP! Summer is a time where you can save a lot of money on cleaning. Call some of these companies to see what offers they have.

Ask your family and friends for recommendations for a carpet cleaning company. You aren’t the first person who needs their carpet cleaned. You should be able to find someone who has used a carpet cleaner. They can give you a recommendation. In addition, if they are not pleased with the quality of their previous carpet cleaner, they can warn you so that you don’t make the same mistake they did.

Using the advice you learned here, you will find the process of having your carpets professionally cleaned will go much more smoothly. You have to know that the company you hired is the best so that you’re able to get quality service. You should now be ready to begin your search.

Clean your Carpet ahead of Thanksgiving Weekend this year

In a few weeks time, we will be ushering the Thanksgiving Holiday in America. You will be having guests at home: Family and friends will flock in. Do you have a clean carpet to welcome them to your home? No? Is your carpet dirty? Dusty? Or smelly? Or do you have an asthmatic relative?

There’s still enough time to salvage the situation

You don’t need to roll up your carpets. You can make them conducive to your home. You just need to hire the right carpet cleaning company and your problems will be solved.

Why you need to Hire a Carpet Cleaning Company Today

Carpets require care, attention, and maintenance. In your failure to do so, they will do that for themselves in a way known best to them – crossing over to the other side, disrepair.

Other reasons you should care for them are as follows:

  1. You eventually have to step out of your home, and you come back with dirt and mud all over your shoes. There’s no reason why the dust, dirt, and mud won’t collect in the fibers of your carpet. Sweeping, brushing and vacuuming can only take you so far. But the real cleaning in which the dust collected in the fibers is eliminated is rarely done – washing
  2. On some rare occasions when we become a little careless wine, tea, fruit juice, dyes, paints, or other fluid get spilled over the carpet and leave very obvious sorry reminders about our little bout of carelessness. They also create a conducive condition for bacteria and other microscopic life forms to thrive. Here the services of carpet cleaners should be engaged to eliminate these stains. Their continued appearance on the carpets makes sore to the eyes
  3. We all want our carpets last for prolonged periods of time. This won’t happen if we continue to turn a blind eye to it. In order to prolong the life of your carpet, frequent vacuuming, and washing should be done.
  4. Carpets are excellent for trapping pollutants. If left to settle for a long time will cause your offensive odors and ultimately lowering the quality of indoor air by some substantial degree. People can tolerate a lot of things but when it comes to offensive, tolerances grow dim. Carpet cleaning establishments such as Accents in Cleaning have top grade carpet washing equipment and materials that will leave your carpets smelling great under a short time
  5. Periodic washing of carpet will no doubt discourage build of allergens. This goes a long way in preventing health complications that may occur if they are left to stay.
  6. The awesome effect associated with allowing professional carpet cleaners to work on your carpet is that it improves the appearance of your home. Your carpet is restored to its former glory. Additionally, your home gets to look clean, feel clean and smell fresh.

So it’s your duty to take care of your carpets and have them clean most especially by carpet cleaning service companies. Accents in Cleaning is ready to assist you on this.

How to Solve your Pet Odor Problem

Our furry little friends (and most times, family) are adorable and awesome. But we admit sometimes that maintaining them could be a real pain. But we love them. That’s why we put up with it. But when maintaining them becomes almost unbearable – pet odor – what do we do? In this blog post, we’ll discuss how to solve your pet odor problems.

Olfactory fatigue

The major reason it’s hard for us to detect the odors our furry friends have in our home, but to a visitor, this odor stands out and if your pet is in bad health, can be a bit offensive. Olfactory fatigue is the temporary inability of the sense of smell to perceive an odor due to prolonged exposure to the odor. It happens everywhere, you’re not alone in this.

We love our pets, but we don’t always love their odors. Most issues can be resolved with regular mopping, vacuuming, and bathing our pets, but sometimes pets make mistakes and some foul odors rise to our senses.

Animals tend to mark their territory

This much we know. Sometimes the solution is additional training, but sometimes it is a medical concern. If you find your pet “marking” areas of your home, try to use positive reinforcement to encourage them to do their business in an acceptable place (like the litter box, outside, or puppy-pads). If more accidents happen, make sure to completely remove the stain and odor from the spot because if you do not, they will continue to see that as an acceptable place to relieve themselves. If proper retraining does not help, consult your vet to discuss other options.

A Layer of Paper Towels and…

The Humane Society has some suggestions for the proper cleaning of pet marking messes. For one, they recommend a layer of paper towels covered by a layer of newspaper. Once you apply pressure, the mess should start absorbing then finish by rinsing the area with water and removing as much of the water as possible. The last step is difficult without a wet-vac or professional care.

Covering the stain with Scented chemicals

Covering the stain and smell with scented cleaning chemicals is less likely to work than a deep cleaning. The pet odor-causing molecules need to be completely removed for maximum effectiveness. Basic carpet cleaning chemicals may mask the scent from you and other humans, but your pet will still be able to smell it and they will continue to mark there. To help this, pet stores sell “pet odor neutralizers” which will work much better than normal carpet cleaners.

Reapplying varnish

Unfortunately, when left untreated pet stains on wood can lead to permanent damage. The only solution at this point is reapplying varnish. Like carpet stains, they are best treated as soon as possible. Allowing Sparky’s markings on any surface may lead to damage that even professional cleaners cannot fix.

If your pet is still in potty training, or you have begun retraining them, give us a call at Accents in Cleaning. Our deep cleaning procedures can restore your floors to like-new conditions. If you don’t believe us, check out the customer review on Yelp stating that our services kept them from having to pay a re-carpeting fee on their rental apartment. Clean floors are wonderful to have, and we won’t let you consider rehousing your pet in order to maintain cleanliness in your life.

Call us today on 925-565-9255 so we can help you keep a clean, and fresh smelling home.

Some Carpet Cleaning Misconceptions

Some Carpet Cleaning Misconceptions

Being in the carpet cleaning business for several years I’ve heard quite a number of stories and misconceptions about carpet cleaning.

It may be 2018, but this misconceptions and myths still take root in peoples beliefs. That’s so because when we were all kids an authority figure told us these myths which they themselves believed to be true.

They also were told these things when they were kids and that’s how these misconceptions have been passed from mouth to mouth, from generations to generation.

I’m however going to shed some light on some of these carpet cleaning misconceptions.

1. Wait a few years before cleaning a new carpet

Honestly, I have no idea where this started or how it came to be, but the truth is it is false. Waiting a few years before thinking of cleaning your new carpet only does more harm than good. I suppose people intend to preserve the life of the carpet but while they intend to do that, they only put the health of your family at risk.

The dust that settles on the carpet, stains from liquids that spill into the fabrics and other contaminants makes it unhealthy – a perfect breeding ground for germs and allergens. This causes the air in your home to be contaminated by these pollutants which constitutes a health hazard for you and your family.

Carpet cleaning and washing don’t cause the fabrics and patterns to fade, with the right cleaning materials your carpets will survive its entire lifespan and look as good as the day you bought it.

2. Only clean your carpet if it is stained

Over time, carpets accumulate dead skin cells, dust and food fragments. Some carpets hide this better than others, but because they are hard to spot does not mean they are absent.

Waiting for your carpet to be stained is not a good threshold/standard by which you should depend on to make the decision.

Waiting will only give your carpet the chance to further accumulate these filths that not only contaminates the air but cause skin diseases and irritations should your bare skin touch the carpet.

3. Cleaning shrinks the carpet

While this may be true, it depends on the carpet cleaning company you hire for the job. Your carpet will only shrink if the water used is too hot, if it is soaked a long time and if you use the wrong cleaning materials and technique for your carpets.

This is one of the reasons it’s advisable to hire a carpet cleaner that’s an expert in the field. An excellent cleaning company, know the appropriate materials for your carpet type and every other relevant information to prevent your carpet from shrinking.

4. If you have your own machine, you don’t need a professional

Unless you are a professional in the field, you need experts. Having your own machine is great and convenient if removing small stains is what you intend to do.

However, for heavy-duty carpet cleaning, you will need professionals to do the cleaning. Their machines have the power needed to remove tough stains and of course won’t shrink your carpet.

5. Carpet cleaners are all the same, go for the cheapest ones

There are carpet cleaners and there are also carpet cleaners. That you will be able to tell when you actually go for the cheap carpet ones. The quality of service the cheapest ones offer will definitely not be the kind of service you’ll get if you went for the real pro.

Already explained in 3 above, expert carpet cleaners know what to do to prevent your carpet from shrinking sams cant be said and guaranteed for the cheapest carpet cleaners.

How to hire a Local Carpet Cleaning Company near you

This is a question many prospective customers ask and for a good reason too. Your carpets require adequate care and attention if they are to remain clean, healthy, safe and last a long time. In order for them to happen, you will need the services of the local carpet cleaning company near you.

Finding the right carpet cleaning company is of utmost importance because the truth is, everyone wants to make money. But only few are willing to put in the work. With that said, we have compiled few but essential tips to help make the right decision with carpet cleaners.

Get the best Carpet Cleaning Service with no headache

  1. Consider a carpet cleaning company’s reputation before hiring them. Many carpet-cleaning companies exist, but unfortunately, all are created differently. Some have more experience and are simply better than others. You should seek out opinions from your family and friends and check for reviews online. You can then be better able to find the carpet cleaning service that fits your budget and needs.
  2. When you are considering hiring a carpet cleaning company, you must ask about the types of solvents and chemicals they will be using. Many companies still use harsh chemicals, but a quick search online will help you to find out which companies use green products.
  3. If you are looking into having your carpets cleaned, you should understand how the pricing structure works. That means they charge you a low fee initially but will keep offering you additional, more expensive products and services that other people have tried.
  4. A reputable carpet cleaner will give you a guarantee. If the business does not offer a warranty, look for another company. You should allow the company to back up their guarantee if things don’t go right the first time. Ask for a refund if you are still not happy with their service.
  5. Just because a carpet cleaner is using a brand-name product, that doesn’t mean they do a better job than anyone else. Check for genuine certifications, licensing and insurance any time you are considering hiring a carpet cleaning company.
  6. Always examine your carpet warranty before going forward with carpet cleaning services. You may have a carpet that has a stain treatment built in, and putting a different product on it may affect the warranty. You will eventually spend more and the chemicals may not coincide with one another.
  7. The company should move your furniture for free. Even the carpet cleaning company will include the move of your furnishings free of charge, you should handle the fragile items yourself. Even if a company promises nothing bad will happen, it is still not wise to trust someone else with your valuables.
  8. Some companies will move your furniture. That is good, but move things that are especially valuable yourself, to ensure nothing is damaged. It is best not to take any risks, even if your carpet cleaner is insured and seems reliable enough to take good care of your valuables.

Finally…

If you’re able to implement these tips, you are sure to nail yourself a great carpet cleaning company. If you are a resident of Concord, Walnut Creek, San Ramon, Danville, Blackhawk and it’s nearby cities, you don’t need to look too far. Accents in Cleaning is one of the best carpet cleaners in the area. Just give us a call and dirty carpets will be a thing of the past for you.

How To Get Wax Out Of A Carpet

How To Get Wax Out Of A Carpet

We all love candles, especially the scented types. They give such a safelight that sets the perfect mood and atmosphere for memorable moments/events. But like most things, they also have a downside – the wax.

The use of candles has grown and become popular that spilling candle wax on the carpets have equally grown.

Getting wax out of carpets, especially rug carpets, can be a bit of a challenge. However, with the right tools and method, getting wax out of your carpet can be just as easy as vacuuming.

Before we continue, I should stress that candles and carpets are a terrible mix. Whenever you use candles on carpets, ensure you are careful and use your candles in candle jars.

Tools you’ll need

  • Credit card or something similar
  • Vacuum with a hose
  • Clean towels
  • Paper bags
  • Iron

How to get the wax out

  1. Use the credit card to remove the butt wax, paying attention to the pressure you apply to the wax so you don’t damage the fibers. Scrape away at the wax as gently as you can manage. Keep at it until the bulk of the wax has been removed.
  2. Now you just want to vacuum the way you’ve just scraped. Vacuum, not brush. If you brush, you risk spreading tiny fragments all over your carpet. The wax has to be confined to a small area so you easily get all the way out.
  3. You’re going to melt the residues that are left so they come off easily. Use your iron and ensure it is at it’s lowest setting. You have to pay strict attention to the heat and ensure you don’t burn the fabrics. When the wax melts, wipe the spot with the paper bag. The paper bag will absorb the wax from the carpet.
  4. If after the previous step you still have some wax, blot the remainder with a rag soaked in a mixture of ammonia and water. Don’t rub on the carpet. Doing so will ruin your carpet. If the wax is colored, an easy way to know if all the wax is out is if the color is not transferred to the cloth. Therefore, blot with a white rag until no more color is noticed on the rag.
  5. If the previous step fails, mix baking soda with water in an equal amount so that a paste is achieved. Smear the paste on the wax stain and let it dry. Vacuum the paste. You should notice the stain come off with some of the colors. Repeat this method as required until there is no color in the baking soda.
  6. Rinse the area with a clean towel soaked in cold clean water. Make sure to dry off excess water. Vacuum the area afterward.

Clean Carpet vs Dirty Carpet

Why do you need to Power Washing?

Power Washing promises a lot of benefits, some of them, long-term benefits, others short-term benefits. Power washing also has aesthetic, health and economic benefits. Read on to find out how.

#1 Improves the Appearance of your Home

As a result of being exposed to the elements, the walls of your home and every other surface exposed to harsh weather conditions will lose their appeal. Surfaces that once glowed are dulled by the build-up of dust, algae, fungi, and grime. The forceful jets of water will remove accumulation to expose the true beauty and appearance of your home – beauty that was all this time buried.

#2 Keeps you and your family safe from infections

There is no doubt the myriad of disease-causing organism currently ‘playing guest’ on the surfaces of your home. Being out in the open has left your walls ideal breeding grounds for fungi, mildew and other pathogens. Once in a while a family member may brush their skin on the wall, touch the walls or do anything that makes them have contact with the walls – it’s unavoidable. Your kids are the most prone to making contact with these surfaces and this will lead to infections. Power washing will remove the bulk of these pathogens thereby reducing the risk of future infections.

#3 Save you the Hassle

Manually washing your walls take a lot of time, not to mention having to climb ladders every time. There are crevices you may not reach and the result of the exercise may not be satisfactory. However, pressure washing will save you this stress, produce meaningful, satisfactory results and free up time for you to do more important things.

#4 Increases the Value of Your Home

If you’re planning to sell your house, power washing is an awesome idea. Honestly, let’s face it, are you going to buy a house whose exterior appearance is nothing to write home about? Power washing as we earlier discussed will enhance the appearance of your home, making it appealing to prospective buyers and raises its value beyond what it would have been.

#5 Saves Money

Some of the earlier mentioned benefits yields this reward. When your home is free from disease pathogens, you will save up on medical expenses which would have resulted from infections. Power washing your home just once will keep you from spending money if you had to manually wash your house yourself frequently.

TIP! Try to avoid excess heat when carpet cleaning. Your carpet can suffer from severe damage, even more so if it is colorful or fragile.

You should not choose a carpet cleaner who uses telemarketing to find clients or advertises set prices for a room. Rooms come in many different sizes. Usually, prices are based on the size of the room when they are professional.

TIP! Beware of carpet cleaning businesses who are soliciting business over the phone, or who charge by the room. Not all rooms are the same size.

Check customer reviews of local cleaning companies. Look for reviews and recommendations that indicate whether the company is able to meet your needs and provide the best services. Do some research to get the best results from a cleaning company.

TIP! Check customer reviews of local cleaning companies. There are companies out there who claim excellent customer service when in reality it is anything but excellent.

Even if furniture moving is offered free by the company, move any valuable yourself before they get there. It is best not to take any risks, even if your carpet cleaner is insured and seems reliable enough to take good care of your valuables.

TIP! Check your carpet warranties prior to arranging to have any professional carpet cleaning firm provide stain treatment. Certain carpets are made with a stain treatment and when you use another formula, the warranty could become void.

Just because carpet cleaners use some famous products doesn’t mean that they’re more reliable and experienced than other companies. Proper licensing and certifications, on the other hand, are more important. Just ask the company, then verify that on your own.

TIP! Just because a professional uses a well-known product doesn’t mean they are reputable. Make sure you research the certifications and credentials of any prospective cleaning firm.

Inquire about how you can take care of your carpeting after the professionals are finished working on it. They can give you guidance regarding how long the carpets need to dry, how often you should vacuum, and what you can do to lift future stains from the carpet. Follow your technician’s advice to help your carpets remain looking their best.

TIP! In the world of cleaning, a carpet cleaner on a professional level should be fully certified by the IICRC. This certification is the most revered across the globe.

If you can’t get a stain out of your carpet, you may want to get a professional. Professionals use better techniques to get the stains out of your carpet. In fact, they can remove stains without inflicting any chemical damage to the carpet. Over time, this saves a great deal of money.

TIP! Pets can wreak havoc on your carpets. If you have carpet that is harder to clean, consider keeping your pets out or using rugs.

Shampoo your dirty carpet with a mixture of vinegar and warm water. Doing this is a cheap, effective method of getting carpets cleaned. Just use a 50-50 mix of vinegar and water applied with a sponge. Rinse completely with warm water, and finally, use a fan to dry the carpet.

TIP! Make sure that the company you hire has procedures they are following. You need to be sure that before any deep cleaning they are going to vacuum your carpet.

Make sure your carpet cleaner is IICRC-certified. This certification is globally recognized as the gold standard for carpet cleaners. This is important if your carpet is under warranty. If there isn’t a certification, the manufacturer can void your carpet’s warranty.

By following this advice, you will keep your carpets looking beautiful for a longer period of time.

TIP! Check out the customer testimonials for the companies you are considering in your local area. Several companies that have existed for a long time don’t offer the service you think they would.

If you need to clean your carpet in between professional cleanings, consider using vinegar and warm water. This method is both effective and highly affordable. You should mix equal quantities of warm water and vinegar, pour it on your carpet and scrub with a sponge. You’ll be happy with the result.

TIP! Some carpets don’t react well to harsh cleaning chemicals, even from professionals. Be sure to apply a little bit of solution to a small area of your carpet in an unobtrusive location a full day before applying a cleaning solution to the whole carpet.

What to do when preparing for Carpet Cleaning Service

TIP! Many cleaning companies use chemicals; if you don’t want these substances in your home, find someone that uses “green” methods. Read any cleaning product labels and consider “green” solutions like baking soda, salt or rinsing the carpet.

Ask prospective carpet cleaning companies about the types of deodorizer that they use.

For creating lists of local companies, talk to the local chamber of commerce. You should also check which companies have a certification and ask about complaints filed by customers. This way, you can choose the best local company.

TIP! Always read all the instructions on an industrial carpet cleaner before you use it. There could be special instructions about using the cleaner.

See what kind of screening process the company has for the employees they hire. You don’t need criminals in your home. Reputable companies do a complete background check and will inform you of this. If a company is not forthcoming with this information, move on.

TIP! Shampoo carpets with vinegar and warm water. This is a much cheaper alternative to actual cleaning products and they get you better results.

Make sure that you put your houseplants in an area that’s separate from the rooms that are getting their carpets cleaned.

Professional Carpet Cleaner

Although it is a tough stain, red wine can be removed by a professional carpet cleaner.

Carpet Cleaning Companies

Different companies clean carpets in different ways. Certain companies might clean with absorbent pads. This method involves using a tool similar to wooden floor buffers. Absorbent pads that spin are used; they get rid of dirt, mold, and debris found deep in your carpets.

TIP! Make sure that you make space in your driveway or near your home for carpet cleaning company employees to park. That sounds kind of silly, but it really is important.

Make sure you look into any cleaner that you intend to hire. You should ensure that the company runs background checks on the people that come into your home, as well as drug screen them. Being robbed should be the least of your concerns when you hire a professional.

TIP! Instead of asking for a quote over the phone, have the carpet cleaning company visit the house. This will enable them to check out all your rooms and provide you with a more detailed estimate.

Read the fine print on coupons. There are sometimes stipulations about services. Some services will require an extra fee. Speak to the company first and be detailed in your needs. Ask them just what your coupon covers. See about specials that might save you even more.

TIP! You don’t want to just go by price when you are choosing a company. It is important to factor in the quality of the service you will receive as well as how reliable their workers are.

Using the advice you learned here, you will find the process of having your carpets professionally cleaned will go much more smoothly. You have to know that the company you hired is the best so that you’re able to get quality service. You should now be ready to begin your search.

Carpet Cleaning Appointments: How to prepare for them

After each carpet cleaning appointment, the cleaner will give you tips on how to maintain your carpets pending the next cleaning appointment. If they don’t, well you have come to the right place. Carpets don’t always stay clean especially when they’re in use, that’s why constant attention is needed to maintain its appearance. There are things you should do and others you should avoid between appointments. They include:

#1 Vacuum Regularly

This seems like the obvious chore, doesn’t it? But it’s sad to say that a lot of people are comfortable not vacuuming their carpets. Vacuuming regularly at least once a day will not just keep your carpet clean and pretty, it will extend the life of your carpet. This simple yet seemingly boring task removes loose dirt from your carpets so they don’t go deep into the fibers of your carpet and turn it gray. Wear and tear will also be reduced to a smaller rate.

#2 Attend to Stains Quickly

As soon as they occur you will want to blot them out immediately. Special emphasis on the blot. That’s right, blot, don’t Scrub. Scrubbing makes the stain worse by spreading it and pushing it deeper into the fabrics if your carpet. Instead, blot the stains out carefully. It may look like you have to blot quickly so the stain doesn’t fall deep into the fibers, but at this point, rushing over it may yield unpleasant results. The key is to be as efficient at it as possible. When blotting use clean water and towels. You may have to teach your kids how to do this in your absence. We know kids love to play and experiment a lot.

#3 Attend to Spills Immediately

It’s probably second nature to you to mop spills as with floors, but with carpets, you have to try a different approach. Mopping is kind of like rubbing and spreading the spill to the surrounding fabrics. Blot the spill instead like you would do stains. You have to do this quickly. A slight hesitation on your part may give rise to a bad smell. When your carpet starts giving off these smells, you’ll be embarrassed to invite anyone or host a guest in your home. Be quick in your approach. Remember, ‘a stitch in time saves nine’. Whatever you do try it to mix harsh chemicals together to deal with spills and stains, they could be harmful to your carpet. Contact your carpet cleaner instead.

#4 Don’t Wear Shoes on Your Carpet

If possible, you can prohibit the use of shoes on your carpet. Carpet cleaning is a daunting and time wasting task – your guests will understand. Moreover, wear and tear will be reduced to a significant degree consequently extending the lifespan of your carpet.
